glad you’re here

Julie Birky, LCSW

Mental Health Educator| Consultant for Leaders | Counselor

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over two decades of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about equipping leaders to foster mentally healthy environments within their organizations and communities. My journey in mental healthcare began in 2004, and since 2015, I’ve been licensed to practice in Illinois. My work focuses on mental health education, consultations, and supporting leaders who want to make a meaningful difference.

I love helping people discover insights they may already sense but haven't yet fully realized. Teaching, for me, is a creative process—a way to guide others on a journey of self-discovery, not just about mental health concepts, but about their own strengths, leadership, and potential to effect change. Whether I’m facilitating a workshop, leading a consultation, or holding office hours, my goal is to inspire confidence, clarity, and practical skills that leaders can apply immediately.

My Approach

I believe that learning is most impactful when it’s interactive and engaging. I incorporate real-life examples, storytelling, and thought-provoking questions into my sessions. My approach is designed to foster open dialogue, encourage reflection, and offer actionable strategies that leaders can use to support mental wellness in their organizations.

Leaders play a crucial role in shaping the mental health culture of their communities. I work with church and ministry leaders, business professionals, nonprofit organizations, and local government offices because when leaders are equipped with the right knowledge and tools, they create ripple effects that benefit entire teams and communities. My goal is to empower leaders to recognize mental health challenges, respond with confidence, and create supportive, resilient environments.

Why I Focus on Leaders

A Bit More About Me

Beyond my professional work, I find joy in connecting with people, exploring new ideas, and continually learning. My roots are in rural Illinois, and I am deeply committed to serving this community. The work I do is more than a job—it’s a calling to help leaders support not only the mental health of others but also their own well-being.

If you’re a leader looking for guidance, support, or practical tools to foster mental health in your organization, I’d love to connect with you.
